About Breath Harbor

Breath Harbor offers free breathing, grounding and relaxation practices that you can follow right on the page, without installing an app or creating an account.

What you can do here

Follow the breathing timer for box breathing, 4-7-8, the physiological sigh or slow coherent breathing, or work through the guided 5-4-3-2-1 grounding exercise. The breathing, grounding and script guides explain each method, how to adapt it and when to stop.

Who runs Breath Harbor

Cheng Xu, founder and editor. Cheng builds and maintains the practice tools, edits and publishes every guide and script, and keeps the source list and update history for each page. Cheng is not a clinician, and the guides do not present themselves as medical advice.

For questions, corrections or feedback, email hello@breathharbor.com. If something on a page looks wrong, include its address and the sentence in question; corrections are noted in the page's update history.

Editorial standards

Guides and original scripts are drafted with AI assistance. Before publication, factual wording is checked against the linked sources by a separate review pass, and automated checks verify structure, references, internal links and selected safety language:

Pages are not individually reviewed by a clinician. AI assistance and automated checks do not replace clinical review. We do not list a clinician as an author or reviewer unless that person has actually contributed and agreed to be identified.

Our sources and evidence page explains the difference between studies, teaching resources and original scripts. Published dates describe publication; updated dates change when the content changes.

Original scripts and permission

You may read, print, or record our original scripts for personal use, and read them to a noncommercial group with credit to Breath Harbor. Commercial sale or redistribution is not included. Third-party references keep their own licensing. No audio recording or separate PDF download is implied unless it is actually available on the page.

The breathing pattern timings are published as open data under CC BY 4.0.

Your privacy

The breathing timer and grounding exercise run entirely in your browser. Nothing you do in them is sent to or stored on our servers. Read the privacy page for what our analytics count.
